As a dyslexia interventionist, I will provide students with structured literacy lessons based on Orton-Gillingham's practices. These lessons will be multimodal, systematic, and tailored to individual needs.
As an experienced educator and thought leader, I deliver engaging and insightful content that benefits K-12 teachers. As a John Maxwell Certified Speaker, my goal is to inspire a transformation in literacy among all leaders. Leaders must demonstrate the path forward in order to guide others effectively.
As a John Maxwell-certified coach, I support school leaders in their literacy transformation by facilitating discussions about the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS). This includes aligning evidence-based instruction with the systems and structures that promote growth for all students from kindergarten through 12th grade. As James Clear says, "We do not rise to the level of our goals; we fall to the level of our systems."
I worked as a public school educator for 33.5 years, teaching third, fifth, sixth, and seventh grades with a focus on literacy. Throughout my career, I served as a District Reading Specialist and Interventionist, as well as a Middle School Reading Specialist, Interventionist, and Literacy Coach. I earned a Master's degree in Reading from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and obtained National Board Certification in Early Adolescence English. Additionally, I received a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist Certification and am trained in LETRS.
"Leadership is influence—nothing more, nothing less." This quote by John Maxwell captures the essence of leadership perfectly. As a certified John Maxwell leader, I have received training to apply leadership principles specifically to literacy. John Maxwell is recognized as one of the world's leading experts on leadership, and his training has provided me with the foundational skills and knowledge necessary to make a significant impact in the field of literacy.
